Story Is Everything
My brother once said to me, “If money were experiences, you’d be loaded.”
He was referring to the several cities I’ve called home, the jobs I’ve held and the people I’ve met. He has three kids and a wife. I have a three decades of a life on the go. Married to my curiosity, I give birth to one experience after the next, and each one has its stories.
We all have stories. We’re made of them.
My name is Pema Teeter, aka Story Charmer
Story coach, writer, editor and playwright, I find story in everything.
You’ll find it here too. You might even find yours.
Stories relate us
…whether we’re selling or buying or trying to get by
When you tell your story, you begin to understand what moves you, and others. You don’t have to share your story, but you have to find it. It’s your touchstone. Let it inform.
Everything is story
Here you’ll find…
Story Living
Life in the making, and its curiosities, adventure.
Story Writing
The delicious and exacting craft of slinging sentences. Word.
Tips, thoughts, offerings about technique.
Practice.

Story Growing
The growth of a business from seed to forest.
The growth of a human through her paces.
Fear, joy, and hopefully some nudity in the form of truth. Self exposure.
Story Changing
You can change your life by changing the stories you tell about it.

A little more about me…
If I were a super hero, I’d be Chameleon Girl, absorber of environments.
My freelance career began as a features writer and editor for a community magazine in Santa Barbara, California. Simultaneously, I wrote a weekly interview column for the local Arts and Entertainment paper. These interviews early on taught me to listen, first of all, and to disappear in the writing, so that my subject could shimmer in his or her individuality. Fourteen years later, my listening is my greatest tool. It has broadened my personal development, absorbed best practices inside industries such as finance, technology, online advertising, grantmaking, entertainment, and others in the private and nonprofit sectors. My writing and story coaching continues to center on what I hear, and what I help bring to the surface as a result.
More recently, my work has led me to represent companies and organizations as a social media rep, moderator and hostess of sorts.
My skills are at your service.
